A cooperative of olive growers on the north coast
Poljoprivredna zadruga Postira has operated since 1945. Alongside olive growers in Postira itself, it brings together producers from Dol, Škrip and Splitska. Over time it has also worked in preserving green olives and with citrus fruit, while olive processing and oil production have remained its central activities.
Olive processing and oil
The oil mill is part of the island’s infrastructure for processing olives. LAG Brač’s profile of the cooperative describes the use of a centrifugal line and a traditional press. On its own website, the cooperative presents oil from the Oblica variety and reports a gold medal at the NYIOOC competition in 2021.
The oil mill and local products
The official website connects oil processing with the presentation of local products and crafts. The cooperative also helped organise the World Olive Picking Championship in Postira, an event that brings local olive growing together with visitors.
